Comedy Central Films

Comedy Central Films is an American motion picture production arm of the Adult-oriented comedy cable channel Comedy Central, originally launched in 1995 by Time Warner and the old Viacom, but sold in 2003 to the old Viacom, and then in 2006 to the new Viacom. Its first film was ''Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie'' (which was rated PG-13; the only Comedy Central film for the family). It has produced adult features and films based on Comedy Central programs, as well as other adaptations and original projects. In 1999, Comedy Central released its first R-rated theatrical film called "''South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut''", which was known for being one of Comedy Central's highest grossing films. The films are released by Viacom division Paramount Pictures (some aren't).
